Countdown to Opening Day!

2014 WSA Winnipeg Season preparations well underway

January 22, 2014

Winnipeg, Manitoba - Preparations are well under way for the upcoming 2014 PDL season.  As the countdown to opening day begins we say good bye to several players that have moved on such as all-star goalie Tyson Farago to Edmonton and Ali Musse  to the Vancouver Whitecap residency program.  WSA Winnipeg thanks those players and wishes them the best of luck in their future endeavors.

"While the team has lost some fantastic players, we look at this as an opportunity for the younger players to take the next step and become leaders on our team," said coach Eduardo.  Players like Kyle Heibert, Caelen Budhoo and some new and exciting NDC players will have to prove that they can fill the vacated spots.  Coach Badescu explained, "With veterans like Jordan Smith, Kris Nordman, Aaron Badescu, Ryan Ramjiwan and Moses Danto returning for the 2014 campaign the team has a good mix of veterans and youth which will help us to achieve our team goals for 2014."

Over the next few weeks several youth players will be invited to the team practices and we will be officially launching our 2014 season with our season opening press conference, the announcing the game schedule for 2014 and updates on the team personnel and sponsors among other things.

Keep an eye the website for announcements and news and we will see you at the pitch soon!
