Road Trip!

WSA Winnipeg on the move

June 6, 2013

Monday, June 11 WSA Winnipeg will be embarking on their second and longest road trip of the year next week.  The team will have stops in Kansas City, Springfield and St. Louis before returning home the following Monday, June 17.

Mathwe_McDevitt_Kansas.pngWSA Winnipeg (0-4-0 -> win-loss-tie) will meet the Kansas City Brass (2-1-0) at Overland Park Soccer Complex on their first stop on Tuesday, June 12.  The Brass and WSA Winnipeg are both coming off losses, 5 - 1 and 4 -1 respectively, to the Des Moines Menace in their last games.  Our team will have to keep the Brass's Mathew McDevitt in check if they want to leave Kansas City with a win. McDevitt is 8th in the Premier Development League in scoring with 4 goals in 3 games.

Tyson_Farago_in_Net.pngTwo nights later on Thursay, June 13 and Friday the 14th WSA Winnipeg take on the Springfield Demise (1-1-1) at Cooper Sports Complex.  Springfield is fresh off a 2 - 0 loss to the Kansas City Brass in their last game.  If WSA Winnipeg can get pair of strong performances from goalie Tyson Farago, who is ranked 5th in the number of saves (28) by a goalie in the PDL, they should be able to take a couple of wins from the Demise.

Rounding out the road trip our team will play the St. Louis Lions (1-3-1) at Tony Glavin Complex on Sunday, June 16th.  WSA Winnipeg will need Moses Danto (2 goals) and Ali Musse (1 goal) to continue their scoring, along with the rest of the team, if the team is going to have a chance to be successful on this road trip.

Ryan_Photo.pngThe coaching staff and team are confident that they can put together a good trip building upon the positives from the last home stand.  When the team returns home after the St. Louis game they will have close to a two week break to prepare for the Real Colorado Foxes who come to town on Saturday, June 29 and 30th.

Go team!!!
