St. Louis, Missouri: WSA Winnipeg took to the road for their 5th season opener. Losing a heartbreaker to the St. Louis Lions 1 - 0 on a perfect day for football at Tony Glavin Park.

After a scoreless first half the Lions got a fortunate break in the 51st minute. When WSA keeper Josh Partaker went up for a high cross and lost possession of the ball after contact from 2 Lions attackers and somehow the ball found its way into the net without a foul being called. For the next 39 minutes the Wolf pack pressured the Lions.

Halftime sub rookie Tobias Hyrich-Krueger brought some needed  speed into the Wolfpacks attack. At the 80th minute WSA "Man of the Match" Kyle Hiebert played a perfect ball to substitute Ivan Borka. Borka broke to the box and was fouled on his way to goal. Unfortunately St. Louis's keeper Casey Clark guessed right and saved Borka's penalty kick. The score remained 1-0.

With time running down, Clark would make fabulous saves on Aaron Hidalgo-Mazzei and Hamza Mustapha to retain the clean sheet. Our Manitoba boys are now off to Springfield in search of their first win in the young 2015 season.

Results for the upcoming games against Springfield, Chicago and Des Moines will be posted soon! The Saturday game against the Des Moines Menace will be webcast…. details to come.
